Beyond Victims transforms narratives of women in South Asian politics through an innovative storytelling model that documents and amplifies leadership success stories instead of traditional victim-focused narratives. Covering eight South Asian countries, this youth-led initiative has published 129 stories through 26 editions, engaging over 140 volunteers to create multilingual content accessible in Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Urdu, and Tamil.
The initiative targets three key stakeholder groups: aspiring women political leaders at grassroots level as primary beneficiaries, media practitioners and policy makers as influencers, and youth researchers as change agents.
Through its unique intervention approach combining systematic story collection, multilingual publishing, youth mobilization, and cross-border collaboration, Beyond Victims is shifting the discourse around women's political leadership in South Asia.
Beyond Victims represents a scalable model for transforming gender narratives through youth engagement and regional solidarity, directly contributing to SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 17 (Partnerships), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).
