Worth Asking is our annual series of interviews with political leaders to inform and engage people about the gendered nature of politics, its challenges and opportunities. We have conducted 22 interviews with leaders across 5 South Asian countries and published them on our website. We spoke to women political leaders about their career pathways and to men in politics about their allyship and commitment to gender equality. To bring the stories from written interviews to spoken words directly from the leaders, we have raised some funds to start our very first podcast of Worth Asking Series.
These interviews provide an alternative to the misogynistic descriptions in sensationalised interviews on women in politics and are crafted carefully to bring out the leadership that the political leaders have demonstrated, be it challenging gender stereotypes or standing up for what’s unjust.
The interviews unfold narratives of challenging stereotypes, navigating through patriarchy and serving as a source for further research and analysis on leadership and gender equality in the region.
